Management Notes:
TRIT III is a high yielding forage triticale blend that is designed for areas north of I-20. This blend has strong winter hardiness,
great seeding vigor, and increased spring growth. The three vigorous varieties are formulated to give the producer maximum
production under good management practices. TRIT III has higher crude protein levels and increased yields over wheat. A
smooth seedbed is needed for uniform planting. Seeding rate for maximum production is 90-100 lbs. irrigated, and 40-50 lbs.
dryland at a one-inch depth. Grain drill should be set at a 10-20% greater rate than for wheat due to increased seed size and
decreased weight. Fertilizers with increased P & K are needed for Fall application at the rate of 20 to 30 lbs. above the rate
for wheat. At least 100 units of N are needed with 1/3 applied in the Fall and remaining 2/3’s applied in the Spring. |
